Character Analysis

Mathias👑🌼: He was a little tortured cinnamon roll, very easy to fall for but not actually put on page enough. He was abused all the way to the end of the book and never really got what he deserved.

Leto👁️: No. Unpopular opinion maybe, but she wasn’t a likeable main character to me. Her personality was unclear besides her drive to possibly end the curse. I feel like she uses people for selfish gains.

Melantho🐈‍⬛🌊: Snarky blonde lesbian who gives black cat vibes. She looks like a cinnamon roll, could kill you, but is a cinnamon roll. She also didn’t get enough on page time and deserved more.

Alexios⚔️ & Olympia🪓: Alexios gives the vibes 0f being obsessed & in love with Mathias and I feel like he should have been used as a supporting character who got an arc instead of a bully with no real goal in mind. Olympia was only 15 and it really caught me off-guard, but she also would have been a cool axe throwing side character. Instead she was Sharpe from High School Musical.

The Plot

Do I wish to talk about this plot?

No. No I don’t.

But I will, for the sake of the five people who will read this. <3

60% of the book is three star material. It’s not bad, it is unique and interesting. But not a ton of stuff actually happens in that 60% The things that do happen are spontaneously thrown into the story with no real significance.

That’s why it took me NEARLY A MONTH to read this. I mainly listened to my audio books while slowly working through this because I was not excited to read this.

And then last night, when I hit about page 300, things got intense. The rollercoaster of emotions I went through have left me mentally destroyed. I did not put this book down until I finished it, and when I did I stared into space with my eyes wide and mouth agape.

If you’re into tense endings then this book is for you, just beware of the slow start and middle.
